How to Set Up Your IM Shield
The IM Shield helps you manage unwanted IM Requests by allowing you to set a security question. Anyone who wants to show up in your IM Requests will need to answer your question. You can make your question as easy or as difficult as you like, but if your question is too hard it may limit your incoming IM Requests. See our

You can access the IM Shield from either Messenger or IM. Type in a question and answer then click the "Done" button to save.
When another member wants to IM with you, this member must first answer your IM Shield question. Once the question is answered correctly, the member will appear in the IM Requests of your IM window.
If a member has answered your IM Shield question once they will not be prompted to answer it again, even if you change your question and answer. People on your friend list will not have to answer your IM shield question.
